RL is messing with my fandom activities

One day back at work and I'm already grieving the loss of quality online time. :( Especially with so many shiny fun things right now!

There's lots of great meta coming out about BSG's 'Razor' (and I am not going to get sick of talking about that any time soon!) and also the funniest deleted scene I've ever heard of needs to be giggled over. I mean really. *blinks* All the time we were enduring the Quadrangle of Doom and flinging insults at each other's factions, we should really have been blaming Tigh? *lolz* Nice plan, Cylon master! :D

Sorry. I know there's some interesting meta in there somewhere--about Kara and Tigh and how they're paralleled and I did find it interesting that they scripted Kara as having an experience where she was initially mocked for sleeping with Lee--I do think that would have been quite difficult for her to deal with when she was already freaking out. But... but... I still find it hard to think straight about it for the FUNNY. Thankfully sasa_hq provided me with the appropriate giggle-outlets here and here.

Kara, honey, next time you need relationship advice, please to be asking someone other than Mr I-killed-my-wife-and-am-an-alcoholic-Cylon.

As if BSG fandom wasn't entertaining enough, SV is all geared up for a Lana-centric episode that will no doubt be controversial and I still can't get over the fact that Clark may be about to CLONE HIS OWN MOTHER. There's a cool post here about Lana--still the best comm name ever. ;)

In sadder news, the latest draft of my latest vid went pfft and I have to do it all over. :( Boo! But I am close to finished and if I wasn't in such a silly mood would be vidding right now.

Haha yes. I read it when I was drunk first and am kind of glad I did because you could sum up my reaction as: HUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA *has no further deep thoughts* wisteria_ can testify to this--I think she got some drunken messages of me just randomly laughing.

It does play into the "Anders is better for Kara" school of thought though. *sighs*

That's definitely good :D Want a beta? *hopeful* when I was working with WMM2, I got into the habit of saving after adding each clip, and keeping a little notebook with the name of every clip I used and it's framelength, because WMM2 died so often or corrupted files so often. Not fun.

You realise that's a hugely entertaining image? ;) Maybe what we didn't see with that scene was Kara bumping into Adama first and having some of his New Caprican whacky wheat before then bumping into Tigh...

It's more in the vein of "when pushed into making a conscious choice by an outsider, Kara jumps for Anders... not just when she has to make a decision on her own." I'm having a depressing week, that always makes me maudlin.

What's putting me off is the fact I know I'd end up being nasty to some characters, and I don't want to be that guy again. You know the sort of thing - every picture of Anders would imply that his line is basically "I R teh miss her!" and suchlike.

Ohh, thank you for offering! I actually ran it past my SV beta already but more beta is most welcome. If you don't mind the sneak-peak, unpolished version, I'll email you the linky. It's an export of the version of the vid I lost--so the up side of that is if there are things to be fixed in it I don't have to recreate them--just start afresh. ;)

I understand--but I do think you're putting a very negative spin on it there. To me the fact that Kara mentioned it to ANYone indicates that she was thinking of staying--I mean, didn't Lee say 'we'll wake up and tell everyone'? Of course she chose badly in telling Tigh first--he makes her feel like a screw-up again by laughing at her. And of course then she's got her pride to preserve and so she listens to her fear (it makes sense to me that Kara would have morning jitters) and takes drastic measures. Since none of that has anything to do with Anders, i'm fine with it. It's FAR better than her waking up and being all 'omgwtf, must run back to handsome boyfriend'.

Aye. It's best to ignore me when I'm being maudlin ;) I'm just too used to assuming everything comes down to Anders. Thanks to TPTB leaving Kara's reasons for abandoning Lee so completely vague, and never having her explain anything about it in character, I always tend to assume the worst of any possible situations as the baseline.

It's one of those things - I want to do something upbeat and funny, but I know it's a short step from funny to bitchy, and I want to be damn careful to avoid that - there's enough negativity sloshing around without that.
