vid_commentary is giving me a thinky/meta high at the moment! Not only do I now understand kiki_miserychic's 'I want you (she's so heavy)', her vidder profile gave me lots of personal inspiration.

Also it turned out that my commentary on bradcpu's 'Tear You Apart' was incomplete (I could feel that!) but I've now ETA'd the post with a late revelation and am having a very thought-sparky convo with Brad about the intersection between conscious and subconscious intent in vidding.

There are some fascinating conversations going on within those posts - but even as I read them, I come away with the feeling that I'm really not that smart when it comes to vidding, or understanding the vids of others.

Still... I do appreciate the shiny, and there's satisfaction in that.

But I know you! And you are very smart! I've found with vidding that I really need to apply my brain in new ways, and perhaps part of that has to do with it being a (relatively) new genre with not that many people engaging publicly with it. I'm loving the way that vid_commentary is making the process of reading vids more visible--I feel like that will help us all reach a greater understanding of the relationship between vid, vidder and audience.

OMG! PLEEEEEASE write late comments! I am DYING to engage with someone about this. I totally understand that bradcpu is flat out with VVC prep but ME WANT TALKY! :D Whenever. As I said to Brad, no hurry: I will always want to talk about this.
