Well, the film festival ticks on, and my lucky streak has ended. Today I was scheduled to see C.R.A.Z.Y., but the parking restrictions got the better of me. After circling city blocks for half an hour I decided to fork out for a parking centre spot, only to hit Melbourne's only Sunday CBD traffic jam. I missed the session. I've also been OD-ing on documentaries prior, of which the best was Iraq in Fragments, though the camerawork in the middle third had a hypnotic effect on me--I kept nodding off!

In other news... I made an icon. Yes, that's right. This icon. Does this make this a GIP?! Jen! Where is [livejournal.com profile] nehellania?! See! I listen to you! I took you up on your dare. *g* Jules, I'm still quaking in my shoes about your mayo-peanut-banana combo. I'm pleading for an extension due to the high price of bananas here in Aus right now. We have a banana crisis, miss! Really.

Anyway, isn't Maggie cute?! *g*

Mm, it's from one of her suave photo shoots. She works with some brilliant photographers. I can't actually remember whose this is (I have it at home), but it was a great shoot. I'll swing you the details when I'm back home.

She's got about a billion movies coming out this year. She was awesome in Sherrybaby, but I'm really looking forward to seeing more. Can never get enough Maggie!

...and what does that have to do with the price of bananas in Aust- oh. Uh huh. Riiight. (It's good, I promise! You don't put a lot of mayo.)

The first thing that I noticed about your post was the icon. I heart Maggie!

Hmmm... I think I need composition advice. Not too much mayo, you say? And what order does one put the ingredients on? Is the banana mashed?

Honestly! I didn't make it up! Bananas are $25 a kilo. I'm in potassium withdrawal. :-(

Ohhh I'm going to pretend that you didn't notice it because it was SO UGLY but because it was great. *seizes compliment* How I fretted over that icon, Jules! But I like it now. *g* Maggie is awesome.

Ah. Composition advice, you say. You take a banana... and mash it up on a plate. Then you take peanut butter (about half and half?) and then mix it up and add about a little less than a tablespoon of mayo. *nod*

I'm not sure how big a kilo of bananas are... or what that would equate to $25 in US, but I can get them for something like 89 cents a pound... so wow. One doesn't have to do the math for $25 to sound like robbery!!

Ohhh I'm going to pretend that you didn't notice it because it was SO UGLY but because it was great. *seizes compliment*

As you should! I remember the first thing I noticed was the cropping, which I liked... then on a closer look, she had horns. What's not to like from a girl with horns? :D

Wow! I am glad I asked since I wouldn't have guessed that was the way to do it... Ok, I'll keep it lined up for when a suitable banana becomes available again.

And yes! She has horns! *pets the cute*

Yes, I did an icon! *twirls* I angsted muchly before posting it, but I secretly do like it. *pets*

Banana crisis is due to the cyclone earlier this year destroying nearly our entire banana crop in one go. It's even affected inflation, this banana crisis! It has an amusing side. For example, never before have I heard people argue about bananas, but in the tea room the other day, there was much controversy over importing. The only bananas we have are poor shrivelled blackened things with a premium price tag. WOE.
