Valentines Day

I am a very lucky girl and had a lovely Valentines Day. My boy cooked me a meal (rarity!), and surprisingly it was actually healthy: salmon and fresh steamed vegies. As the commitment-phobic, jewelry-buying 'male' of the relationship, I was put in charge of the dessert. So at 6:10pm, I was haunting the aisles of my local continental supermarket with a bunch of suited blokes. I settled on a large tub of deluxe chocolate icecream, lindt chocolate balls and raspberries. My selection was wistfully admired in the checkout queue by all the gourmet-diet-yoghurt-buying boyfriends. I felt like screaming 'Get the damn double-cream chocolate! You really think your girlfriend doesn't want that? Don't buy into her 'I'm on a diet, love!' routine!'
Anyway, it was lovely. And miracle of miracles, pay day fell on Valentines Day so I was able to pay off my airfare to the UK (phew!) and buy the new Belle & Sebastian CD (bliss!).
I've been quite overwhelmed by the explosion of love on LJ for Valentines Day. You guys are the best!! Someone knows me very, very, very well and sent me roses from Clark, Lex and Lois. *hugs that person* How cute!
And I got such lovely generous messages in
svmadelyn's Valentines Day Game. It totally made my day! Thank you to each and every one of you who wrote. I reckon I can pick a couple of you, but not all, so thanks whoever you are! ;) (And I kick my timezones too.)
I'm having a lovely time reading everyone else's messages too, so everyone should go check them out! It's great to see people you love are appreciated by others too, and it's also good to check out people I *don't* know and hear why people like them.
Part A, A-Q.
Part B, R-Z.
It was incredibly hard to pick only ten people to message, so I personally chose people who might not already know how much I appreciated them. So I also want to say a big thank you to my entire f'list for your general (and individual/specific) greatness. *g*
Best wishes to all. K
ETA: Meagre Valentines offerings from me to you all were made here, in case you missed them.

I made dinner for my boy (hee) and it was mostly a success, except I made pasta and poured boiling water on my hand. *shudder and pout* But, still? Best valentine's day ever! *hugs you*

Date: 2006-02-19 07:17 pm (UTC)I want to give your SV eps essays/meta posts to the clarklex list, since it has been very quiet there, but I know at least one fan, who is interested in discussing the new SV eps.
But she is not friending to personal LJs, only to LJ coms.
I am not sure about your policy on your public LJ entries, so I would ask for your permission before I link them.
let me know, ok?
thanks

Date: 2006-02-19 10:19 pm (UTC)You would be more than welcome to link to them. Pretty much all my stuff is public and I'm happy to have people linked to any of that. Thanks for checking! :)

Date: 2006-02-22 10:41 pm (UTC)actually, i am coming over again with a huge suggestion, and its really just a suggestion, but maybe you want to consider to join the clark lex yahoo list??
its here, and while it has over 2000 members, its quite quiet (probably because most fans are on LJ *g*). http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/ClarkLex/
there are still some fen, who have no LJ , and maybe when you repost your metas as well as your reviews will encourage more posts.
feel free to totally ignore this, if you think, you already have too much to handle :)

Date: 2006-02-28 08:20 pm (UTC)no problem, seeing what you all have on your plate :)
and as I said, just a suggestion, I am not sure, if there would even be any serious discussion, as you have in your own LJ, since as I stated, the list is more or less dead, and I am just having pity with them :)
