I'm totally spamming today, since long weekends = fannish productivity! *g*

This vid was my attempt to overcome my phobia of vidding my favourite characters or ships. You'll notice that I still shied away from vidding Lee's perspective... but I'm getting there. I also tried to vid fast, since I'm not keen to repeat the weeks of wallowing in despair that surrounded my last vid. *g* So, nothing serious here... just a light-hearted attempt to stare down my inner vidding demons. Oh, and I only had the mini series and Season 1 to work with, so silly shippiness ensued.

That was great! It was fun to just remember the fairly uncomplicated relationship they had back then compared to the mess they're in now.

Since I'm on dialup and all, I haven't actually got it downloaded and watched yet. But it's at 8% and I'm downloading the small one (for now) so I have some hope that it'll be done before I go to bed. Maybe.

It finished downloading very quickly, despite the dialup, and I really liked it! Great job with the tonal shifts between the seriousness of the verses and the humor on the refrains. Also, very pretty! They were so cute and comparatively innocent in season 1, weren't they?

Ohh, yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and particularly that you felt the tonal shifts worked. I felt that the contrast between serious and light-hearted fitted them well anyway, since that was so characteristic of them in Season 1. And yeah, it was quite the eye-opener returning to Season 1 joy. (I felt like I was becoming one of those Clex fans who's all 'oh, but Season 1's the only good season'! Because they're so incredibly charming and untortured.)

Ah, mini and season 1 pilots! Hiatus is looking better each week since I keep reading great fics and watching great vids like this. I laughed out loud when they spilled the paint and Adama walks in and Kara bursts out laughing. They are like two kids. I laughed and I have seen that moment a million times. It never gets old. This vid keeps me smiling.

Hokay! I finally got it downloaded at 4:30am, so it only took two hours, which wasn't that long at all really. But then we had Easter today so, I haven't had a chance to hit LJ till now.

YAY. That was a very cute and amusing vid! The song was very character and pairing appropriate (and catchy as hell btw), the clips fit really nicely with the song and weren't choppily put together or anything. It had flow. It's a really great distillation of why I loved Kara/Lee so damn much s1. (not to say that I don't cling and love them still, but yes).

Yay! I'm very glad you enjoyed it--and yes, that song is ridiculously catchy. I think it used to irritate me when it was overplayed, but *shrugs* it fitted these guys. And thanks--I'm glad you felt it had flow. It wasn't easy, given how fast I was vidding, to get the movement right. But it was a good learning experience. One of my more longterm projects is to make a real action vid, so I'm on a huge learning curve about movement in vids and what does and doesn't work.

They were awesome in S1! Later Kara/Lee is a different kind of awesome (which I'm still hoping will come good in S4), but it was fun to revisit their earlier days.

Oh, AWESOME! Worth waiting for all day, I tell you! How did you know that it was this special wish of mine, to have all of the best thisclose piloty moments of season one combined into a pleasurable montage set to a rockin' song? With a special focus on being mesmerized by each others' mouths?

It's all good, but I adore how you cut the Cloud-9 waterhose fight. And I especially love how you snuck in the Kara-fantasy Lee sex at the end, there. I mean, it really happened, it must have. It was real. I saw it. Right? Yes. Must rewatch right now.

Heee, hee, um, yes I couldn't resist. I actually think if someone had beta'ed this for me, they'd have probly told me to dump it, because it wasn't canon and it was too overt, but hey, this is an unashamedly shippy vid, and Kara was totally thinking about it and that's good enough for me! (Plus I kind of liked the idea of it fitting the lyric 'It's not over...') Oh, and it was too pretty not to. :-p

I *love* this. :D It's so fun (without ignoring the--granted much different--angst of the first season). I adore what you did with the brig and finger-painting sections in particular. And the Colonial Day stuff. I'm so glad you felt those part works--I've still got soo much to learn about vidding, and particularly movement and how to work with it effectively, not to mention my complete non-grasp of effects. But if the vid worked for you that's wonderful: I'm particularly pleased that the tonal shifts worked.

She does look so vulnerable around him--it was quite amazing to revisit these days and see how (comparably) open they were.

Mmmm, nice vid :) I'm not a big Catatonia fan (never been able to work out why, which is odd) but I do like this vid :) Even ignoring the technicalities... like the way you uploaded a nice big shiny copy for all the shiny junkies like me... this is a very nicely put together vid. You build the pace up nicely, alternating moods depending on whether you're playing to the lyrics or the refrain, and you picked out all the bouncy things from S1 that made them such a great pair to ship. Maybe the reason fandom seems to anti them these days is that there are people who've not seen Season 1? If that's the case, they should be made to watch your vid, very quickly :D

Aw this is great! I actually love that you used only mini/S1 clips, because with so many K/L scenes to choose from throughout the series, I think Baby!Pilots can often get overlooked a bit (and I'm guilty of this myself). So it's wonderful to see them all together *nostalgic* :)

I waited to read your description until after I had already watched...so the sense of play in this vid totally caught me by surprise! In a very, very good way! I think every BSG vid I've watched thus far has been full of doom, or at the very least, incredibly serious (which I get, mind you...I'm sure that if I vidded BSG, I'd head in that direction). The verbal sparring in contrast to all of the silly, giggly moments between them -- your take on these two is truly charming and infectious.
