I feel like crying after what they did to Lex, Chloe, Oliver, and Clark

And after years of setting Clana up for parting for actual reasons relating to their relationship, they may as well have just written Clana as happy true love for the past 7 seasons because the only reason they split was for external reasons. I can't even *head meet desk*

Yeah, same. They destroyed our characters. I feel I'd add Lana and Lois to the list, just personally. (Lois, in absentia, but I'd already been upset about her writing this season)

because the only reason they split was for external reasons. I can't even *head meet desk*
Yeah. What...? What was that? It renders everything pointless. I'm still in some degree of disbelief.

One thing is that this ep seems to be a great equaliser: I'm seeing fans of all characters upset. Why? Because they character assassinated nearly all of them in one ep.

:nods: It was like they went out of their way to piss off every fan group. I just don't get it

I was actually looking forward to Lana's return. I was one of the few that didn't even have a problem with the DP kiss, I thought it was really beautifully filmed and I was prepared for Clana shippers to get their moment before things ended. But to end it like that? Fail. They could still have given Clana their decent ending, while keeping in mind that Lana is the smalltown girl left behind. Instead she's apparently more of a superhero than Clark Kent himself. And she's off ready to save the world when it took Clark 8 years to get to that point, she's talking Clark back from killing, they have made Lana more of a hero than Clark Kent himself

I am heartbroken at how they ended things for Lex, I wish he could have just died in the Fortress. They didn't even need him for that particular plot so much they had to come up with the ridiculousness that they did, they could just of easily of introduced any cartoon villain to infect Lana with kryptonite. I spend seven years following Michael making Lex a sympathetic and human character, not a campy Lex from the movies, and they made him a weird plot device to split up Clana. And that's the end of the friendship of legend?

I could just rant about this forever :/

*nods* It's terrible because what they've done is not keep all the characters in perspective. And I really don't mean that Clark should be considered 'better' than Lana--I'm not into those kind of value judgments--but it is important that Clark remains the strongest hero figure in the show. Lana, I thought, was to have a destiny that was different but complementary--I thought she'd become a confidant, in the way that a childhood sweetheart can become. Someone who understands him, shares memories, but who has her own life. That would be helpful for Clark! I don't think it's helpful AT ALL to have someone mimicking him and parroting all sorts of nonsense about how great and easy and euphoric it will be to be a hero.

Heartbroken re Lex? Yes. I actually went immediately into denial. Only now am I slowly admitting that yes, they really did write that... YIKES. If I were Michael I'd be so mad. I mean I'd be laughing at the lame fake!Lex but part of me would also be MAD. He loved the Fortress ending. Rightly so. There was NO NEED for him to be back, and I couldn't believe that this WAS our Lex.

And that's the end of the friendship of legend?
I'm actually surprised there hasn't been more ranting on this subject. I mean, really? Lex blown up by a toy? And clark glances meaningfully at his ashes and then moves on? REALLY?! What was all that 7 years of build up and foreshadowing for? Oliver just swept in and nuked it. Which is wrong on SO MANY levels, but also because it isn't OLIVER that has an epic destiny with Lex. Good GOD, writers!

I'm not sure how many Clexer's, or even Lex fans, are still watching any more which is probably why there's been less outrage. Just argh. Season 7 might not have been a great season, but at least it handled the Clex beautifully in episodes like Fracture and Descent. They really didn't need to destroy Lex's character like that for no reason.

Looks like the showrunners are leaving SV soon BTW

Wow. Why'd they have to piss on our show before they left? :(
