My Vividcon supporting membership pack came today! \o/ It was very exciting to see the program with my name in it. *pats ego* I may have bounced and pointed.

And now I have EVEN MORE vids to watch. *happy sigh*

Of course, it would arrive on the day I got better enough to return to work. *headdesk*

DVDs shipped from the US seem to take an insane amount of time to arrive, assuming you don't pay through the nose for premium shipping. Fingers crossed that they arrive in time. Is it possible for you to reschedule if they don't? Alternatively... well, you could convert the episodes to MPEG-1 format and watch them on a DVD player, maybe? They won't be nearly as shiny though.

I found a few bits of music I like, a lot of music that's amiable but not desperately exciting, but nothing that I really wanted to vid. Maybe I'm just too picky for my own good. I'm finding it hard to find inspiration - certainly nothing on the level I saw in those VVC videos, where the song and the subject are intertwined so well that you can't imagine the song having been written for anything else.

I am doing better at being impartial with my draft essay, though. I haven't mentioned whiney emotional blackmail from Anders even once...

Well done. You deserve a shiny gold star for that! *g*

I think inspiration is worth the wait. And while those 'perfect' songs can be very hard to find, meanwhile you can find songs that let you in and express something you want to explore... at least that's how I see it.

I wouldn't say I am inspired at the moment either but I'm still practising vidding on a low pressure (aka no audience) vid.

I hope this low pressure vid turns out to be as good as your Deb Vid :D *mental note - I need to check I left feedback on that one*

In some ways, I'd really like to use Tyler's Song (http://artists.letssingit.com/coal-chamber-lyrics-tylers-song-8sjt7g1) by Coal Chamber for a Lee song to do something about Adama's use of conditional affection, Roslin's attempt to manipulate him in Home and Crossroads, and all the things that lead to him being so guarded, but I don't think I'd have enough incidents to match the sheer number of times key phrases are repeated, so if I was to vid that more thought's needed.

I'm worried now that I don't have much to explore in a meaningful way *frets*

I'm still working on my Lee/Kara essay working hard, but I keep coming up with titles for areas I want to explore faster than I can write words to explore them... Gender Reversal and Stereotypes, Emotionally Damaged, Equality, Conditional vs Unconditional Support, Walking Metaphors... blerg. *is too wordy*

I don't know the song but the lyrics seem to fit well for Lee. But it also sounds very repetitive. A song with that much repetition is hard to vid. Trust me! You'd have to cut it down or something.

Your wordiness is part of you! i think you need to embrace it. ;) Of course, that doesn't mean that a second opinion is a bad idea. (but I think you have that already)
