Yup, I intuited that as your reasoning from what you said above. Whereas I think Oliver views the two events as separate matters. I don't think HE sees the double-standard. But I agree with latxcvi that intratextually, it makes sense that Lex views Oliver's words as meaningless. And, look, maybe they are, but I read Oliver as sincere.
