Ok, so clearly someone on the Smallville writing staff believes there are still some Clex fans watching. However misguided this impression may be, I say we need to celebrate this.

Fic writers! seriously! DIARY ENTRIES. I wants them!

Dear Diary
Today I drove to the Kent farmhouse and presented Clark with a sword. I'm still not sure he got the symbolism even though I stroked it a lot. Afterwards I got kidnapped and nearly died but I woke up nicely rested in the Smallville General Hospital. Clark gave me a concerned lecture--very sweet! Just trying to work out how to capitalise on that... perhaps more scotch will inspire me!

PS. Got two new laminated pics of Clark for my special room. Whee!

OK, so how brilliant was Clark's squirmy freaked-out OMG-MY-SECRET-GAY-PAST-IS-REVEALED face?! :D And wow, is that the first time we've had canonical reference to him being able to hold alcohol well?

And I just heart Tess to pieces for completely playing Clark. I loved the way that all the pieces of her set up actually were drawn from Lex's personal narrative:
- An orchestrated plane crash where the pilot was paid off (Helen, anyone?)
- The heroic 'save' by Clark, with her left conveniently memory-less
- The testing of the implausiblity factors (like the parachute) and Clark shrugging those off
- The sharing of a personal secret in the hope of getting reciprocity (and not getting it!)
- Even the 'balcony' scene at the end was textbook Clex.

I looove that Tess manipulated the whole thing and I kind of want to believe she made up the whole childhood abuse story. She's really trying to play herself as the innocent but this whole plot played like she had read Lex's handbook on how to 'test' Clark. And she's just seen that everything that Lex wrote about Clark's responses was absolutely spot on.

I mourn Oliver's plane.

I did not like crazy!Jimmy. I would find it cute that someone could tame Davis's growliness with a touch if it wasn't Chloe that could do that. The acting that Sam Witner is putting in is absolutely fantastic--without that I would be finding the character pretty annoying by now but the way he manages to sell the denial, the self-justification, and the hope despite the horror is impressive.

It was great to have Tess back, but I also want Oliver and Lois! *frowns re annoying CW budgetary issues*
