I think the fact that Athena can give birth is a sign that it's possible--it makes no sesne that that capacity would be limited to only one Cylon
Maybe, but as far as anyone knows, she's STILL the only Cylon who could have a child since no one knows Tyrol and Tigh are Cylons (and anyway, Helo was gone before Caprica's pregnancy was revealed). In any case, Cylon-Human children aren't CYLONS. They're hybrids (and it's won't be clear for a long time whether THEY can reproduce anyway - I'm thinking of horses and donkeys who can breed, but whose offspring are sterile. :P) So I still think it's destroying the species if you remove their only known means of reproduction. But like I said, this question about genocide is not something that the writers cared to follow through after "Measure of Salvation" and likely will not care to think about it here either. I don't know - sometimes Helo irritates me, but I think it's more that the writers like to use him to espouse some very clunky and ill-thought-out ideas.
Now, I did like the individual Baltar scenes (because I like Baltar and I think James Callis is fantastic) but ... I don't feel like they fit in well with the rest of the episode.
I'm just bummed out because I keep picking not-so-great episodes to watch "live" and it's starting to annoy me. I'm seriously thinking of waiting to watch next week's for a while - if it's fabulous, then I'll have something to look forward to; if it's crappy, I won't be as disappointed!
