I think I need to write out my reasons why it WAS such a perversion of Smallville's vision first, and THEN reach the humour.

The finding humour suggestion was more about how to deal with the remainder of the series (once the stage of shock and rage passes) and being able to enjoy the creative work of talented authors, vidders etc. in SV fandom again. I'm not ready to let that go, so I pretty much have to find an effective way of dealing with it. And humour is as good as I can come up with right now, but I agree, it may not be successful long-term.
