he's apparently more of a superhero than Clark Kent himself
*nods* It's terrible because what they've done is not keep all the characters in perspective. And I really don't mean that Clark should be considered 'better' than Lana--I'm not into those kind of value judgments--but it is important that Clark remains the strongest hero figure in the show. Lana, I thought, was to have a destiny that was different but complementary--I thought she'd become a confidant, in the way that a childhood sweetheart can become. Someone who understands him, shares memories, but who has her own life. That would be helpful for Clark! I don't think it's helpful AT ALL to have someone mimicking him and parroting all sorts of nonsense about how great and easy and euphoric it will be to be a hero.

Heartbroken re Lex? Yes. I actually went immediately into denial. Only now am I slowly admitting that yes, they really did write that... YIKES. If I were Michael I'd be so mad. I mean I'd be laughing at the lame fake!Lex but part of me would also be MAD. He loved the Fortress ending. Rightly so. There was NO NEED for him to be back, and I couldn't believe that this WAS our Lex.

And that's the end of the friendship of legend?
I'm actually surprised there hasn't been more ranting on this subject. I mean, really? Lex blown up by a toy? And clark glances meaningfully at his ashes and then moves on? REALLY?! What was all that 7 years of build up and foreshadowing for? Oliver just swept in and nuked it. Which is wrong on SO MANY levels, but also because it isn't OLIVER that has an epic destiny with Lex. Good GOD, writers!
