I don't even get how sticking up for Chloe is sticking up for the underdog, unless her fans consider young, buxom blondes to be a disadvantaged group in modern society.

Yuh. I really don't get it either. And I really don't think Chloe views herself as the underdog. She doesn't see Lois as a threat to her at all. With Clark, she feels like she comes second in romantic stakes with Lana, but she also has a very well-defined privileged position as best friend.
She says everything that I would say, but with less words and more punch.
Gah, it's why I'm so scared to really start writing. My early endeavors are going to be such crap, I know it. But I'll only get better by practicing, right?
