I'm going to view and post on the latest FNL episode later today, but meanwhile I have a vid for you...

Notes: This vid is dedicated to my fellow FNL fans on LJ. Season 1 was probably the most perfect season of television I've ever watched--not one flat episode. In comparison, there's been somewhat of a Season 2 malaise, however this show still has more heart and soul in one five-minute block then most of the shows out there manage in a whole episode. So I set myself a challenge: to construct a vid using footage from just the latest three episodes. It was amazing how much I had to leave out!

The vid's unbetaed and deliberately left a bit rough, since I was pushing myself to complete it in one week. The downloaded footage is a bit grainy when there's lots of movement. And yes, I do hope to make some more polished FNL vids one day.

Aha, I'm busily signing petition! I'll be heartbroken if the show gets ditched. There are so many open plot threads! It's even worse that if it had ended at the end of Season 1 (which seemed very likely at the time). Hopefully-not-last meta post on the way. ;)

Ooh, will you update when it's available for streaming? I'm using my school laptop while my own is being repaired, and it won't let me install the Xvid codecs. Can't wait to see the vid!

I love you! A FNL video from you makes my night. That song really ties in well with this show. I know that song, but I never heard that version of it. You really did a great job with your scene selections too. I'm so glad you watch this show, it doesn't get nearly the love it deserves. In fact, I'm worried that it might not be coming back.

I have to disagree with the "baby you're adorable" shot of Grace though. That baby looks like an alien. We make fun of her all the time at my house. I know, it's evol.. but dayum that's one bug-eyed baby! *g*

Thank you! And I'm glad you feel the song suits the show. I love this cover--it's got some very talented singers/musicians on it--and it always makes me think of FNL.

I have signed one petition and will hunt out others--I really hope we haven't seen the last of it.

And you're not alone in finding Gracie odd looking. queenofthorns was saying the same thing to me the other day. I'm afraid I must be missing the regular baby cuteness-identification gene or something because I find her quite sweet but most babies kinda icky. ;)

Oh wow, that's only three episodes? I never would have guessed that, it feels so complex!

Loved all the continued movement connecting the clips--it made your mood changes back and forth between joyous and angsty so fluid. And I think that sums up what I enjoyed the most about this. It covered the whole gamut of emotions over and over, and each time the tone changed, it felt completely natural. :}

Oh, and you asked about the clip weirdness and Java Jive. I did see again, but I'm really thinking it might be something on my end. It's the most noticeable to me on clips like, near the beginning (0:10) with the waitress, and the one of the coffe maker (0:15) and Lois. Unless the video is pausing on purpose there. But it didn't quite line up on the beats, so I think it's the weirdness again. Seriously though, if no one else sees it, it's gotta be on my machine. And it's not like it keeps me from enjoying them. ;D

Yay! Thanks--I had a lot of fun with that, and i'm really glad it resulted in a natural emotional journey--that was an important goal when I was vidding multiple characters to the one song.

Thanks for the f/b on Java Jive, but yeah, it does sound like it's an isolated thing as others are finding it fine. How curious! Perhaps it will clear up over time? *randomly hopeful about the mysteries of these things*

I just came back to re-watch this one. It remains one of my absolutely favorite FNL vids. Actually, it is my favorite. I think of it a lot, actually, because it encapsulates all of the characters so well and what I love about the show.

You so literally "handle with care" all of these wonderful characters and their stories, weaving them together in a balanced way. I am totally shocked that this is just three episodes worth of material! It seems so full! Which is a testament to your storytelling and how rich a show FNL is (as you said, more heart and soul in five minutes than most shows could ever hope for).

I especially love the bits with Buddy and Santiago -- their storyline nearly broke my heart. And holy cow, the "in daycare centers and at schools" line...what a great match there, using Tami and Gracie! I fully enjoyed this and thanks for making it :)
