Lovin' the interwebs

We just had an earthquake in Melbourne. My friend in Chicago knew before I did.

Two glasses of wine and a good set of headphones insulated me quite nicely. :D

I'm totally unsurprised that I heard about it from my flist first, but still, earthquake in Melbourne? DDDDD: Although, I suppose if there had to be an earthquake, you certainly went about experiencing it the right way, heee.

It wasn't very big. I feel faintly disappointed I missed it though.

Hee. Yes. The flist is all-knowing.

Alcohol protects us from so much. *nods wisely*

But eeeeep! Boppy! That is scary. I'm glad you're okay - insulated and okay. :D

Totally ok. Our house is very solid and nothing fell over. Hoorah! All very anti-climactic, really.

Eep! I take it you're okay?

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
Totally fine. We don't really get quakes here at all so I think it was small.

I think that news was worthy of two more glasses....

Since you're 'amused', I'll assume everything is okay for you?

When I was an uni, we had a salt dome explode about 25 miles away, felt it through all of campus, but I was driving, so my tires insulated me from it.... I was kinda bummed I missed it.. LOL (wow.. run on sentence!)

Thank you! Yeah, I'm totally ok--like you were, a little bummed I missed it. It seems I never feel tremors--there was one when I was younger and one when I was in Tokyo and I have no memory of either.

Sounds like you're all right, and that's a big relief. :D But, the fact there was an earthquake in the first place.. D:

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah... it wasn't very large, so no big deal. Pretty weird that we got quakes and devastating fires within a month of each other though. :(

Glad you're okay! How crazy that someone on a different continent heard about it first--technology is *insane* these days.

It is! I almost didn't believe her!
