I didn't make it past the first episode, I had such a visceral reaction to the gratuitous sex and violence, but the internet is like, MADE of Game of Thrones now. But I think you are the first person I've seen who doesn't think it's a good adaptation, and in particular doesn't think the show is making good choices re: Cersei. Everyone seems really pleased that they softened her and made her easier to like/relate to, which is incredibly ironic. Anyway, gah, I often wish I could watch it just because there is so much squee about it because it does have such varied women, but I just...can't. :(
