(And also for bringing the godlike icon of beauty!)
I love that icon – it’s by realtanala and a lot of people on LJ made icons of that particular towel scene (and the one in Season 2!!!) but something about the way she did the colors really makes him be all golden and godlike there and I just adore it.
Kara has been shown to have more 'faith' in the religious sense. Lee appears to have a more secular personal belief system--based on trust and honour and so on.
I find it interesting that the two times that Lee has been willing to forego his personal belief system, the situation has involved Kara in mortal danger – back in “You Can’t Go Home Again” when he (just like Adama) forgot that they were putting the entire fleet in danger to rescue Kara; and now in “Resurrection Ship” when he was willing to back Kara despite his own terrible misgivings about the assassination. I don’t think for a moment that he wouldn’t have backed her up – but it would have torn him apart to do it, and that’s one of the reasons, I think that he decided it would be easier to die than to have to make that choice!
Again, thanks for reading! :)
No, thank YOU for the lovely essay; btw, I hope you don’t mind but I dropped a note on galacticanews about your episode analysis so it’ll prolly be there tomorrow (a link will be there, I mean!)
