*nods* That's often true. And I've seen vidders deliberately ask people not to read the notes until they've viewed the vid. Or split off notes into a separate post. I know I usually want my vids to stand alone without explanation. But then I've just published one that I knew noone would have a clue about (obscure fandom) so I deliberately did write some basic notes. Having said that, I expect very few people to read them.

I'm the same with films--I like going in blind--so I tend to read author's notes later, even if the author thinks they're important. ;)
